St Barnabas Weekend Away At Home
We are really excited about our Church Weekend Away (at home!) which is happening July 1st – 3rd. This is a great opportunity for us to spend time together as a church family.
With a varied programme of events there will be something for everyone. Read on to find out more.
Friday – 1st July
Church Family Ceilidh: 6.30pm – 9.30pm
The first event to kick off our weekend away is our Church Family Ceilidh! The evening will take place in the church hall and feature for the first time since lockdown our very special Barneys Band! This will be an evening filled with traditional music, dancing, pizza and fun for all ages.
If you’re interested you can simply turn up on the night however we strongly encourage you to sign up by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. That way you will have a guaranteed place and we are able to order enough food. While the night is free for all we are also kindly asking for donations for the food. Suggested donation is £3 per person or £5 for a family.
Saturday – 2nd July
Seeking the Shalom of the City: 10.00am – 12.30pm
Join us for our second event of our weekend away in church led by guest speaker Steve Sutton, (Minister of Coulby Newham Baptist Church and Chair of Transforming Teesside Together).
Stephen will be helping us explore how the Bible calls us to be people who bless the communities and places in which they live and work. Stephen is an inspiring speaker who has done great work in helping churches grasp the vision God has for us to work together to build his kingdom where we are.
Saltburn Beach: 2.30pm onwards
Our next event takes place (not too far!) away from church as we gather as a family at Saltburn Beach. We will meet on the beach in a specially designated area near the pier for time together. There will be sandcastles, a scavenger hunt, football, rounders, cricket and time for just lazing around and exploring the area.
Sunday – 3rd July
Morning Praise: 10.30am
Join us in church and online on the final day of our weekend away at home as we worship together.
Normally as a church we gather at 9:30 and at 11:15 am on Sunday mornings. This Sunday morning, as a one-off, we’ll gather for service at 10.30 am using a mix of traditional and contemporary worship. Our normal Children’s Groups will run at this time too.
You can also join us online using the embedded video here
Church Lunch: 12.30pm onwards
Our final event of our weekend away at home caps things off with a church lunch! This is a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship and good food.
The lunch will take place in the church hall immediately after our service. All church members and their families and friends are warmly encouraged to come and participate by bringing a contribution to the food if you can either with sweet or savoury treats.
