This session uses plants and natural textures to create stained and scented papers with wonderful and pleasing results. Once the papers are dry, a study of the plants, ingredients can be made with some charcoal and inks applied with homemade dip pens and brushes from dried grasses. Ink making with natural pigments, natural dip pens and brushes A completely engaging workshop with mixing, measuring, testing, application to papers and a gorgeous recipe page to finish. It will be created through a varied amount of wonderful pigments and layering techniques with seasonal foods or from different cultures. We will look at natural pigments and how they change with applications of salts and alkalines. A really interesting and fun workshop to explore colour.

Wendi May New is an Award winning Artist, has a love of nature and most of her work reflects this.  She uses found foraged materials, she loves to illustrate, draw and also represent the natural world.  With a background in Natural History Illustration, graphic design and print, Wendi works on murals and also more delicately with intricate en plein air studies.

This workshop is FREE and can accommodate 20 Adults and children.

Priority will be given to Middlesbrough residents (postcodes TS1 to TS9).

There will be the option for participant’s creative endeavours to be included in the Recipe Book and in the exhibition for the final celebration event on 26.09.24.
