St Barnabas Church, Middlesbrough is a lively evangelical Anglican church of 300 people. We are keen to recruit an enthusiastic and faith-filled person to join our growing staff team as a Children & Families worker. He/she will have responsibility for taking forward work with children up to the age of 11 and their families, They will be working alongside a substantial team of volunteers. Set in a town which is ethnically diverse and includes some of the poorest parts of the UK, we are passionate about Jesus and his good news and sharing God’s love with all. This is a half-time post, for two years, in the first instance. The salary is the real living wage, c. £11 000 per annum, half time.
The successful candidate will combine:
- A passion for Jesus and his church and for people to come to faith in Christ
- strong gifts in nurturing faith in, and a deep heart for, children and families and the ability to work with energy and creativity
- the ability to nurture and release the gifts of a wide range of people into ministry and mission
- be a strong team player with excellent people skills
