As with wider society, St Barnabas is adjusting to the changing situation around COVID-19 and the end of ‘Plan B’ restrictions. In effect, we are in the situation we were in before ‘Plan B’, i.e. we act as we were operating last autumn.
This means that the church doesn’t issue guidance and everyone is responsible for how they behave. However the virus remains present and we need to act with care and consideration.
We therefore encourage all attending worship:
– to make their own choices about wearing masks in church.
– there is no formal requirement for social distancing, but please be sensitive and gracious to everyone, recognising they may not feel as you are feeling.
– If you have any of the symptoms of COVID-19, do not attend church and get tested as soon as possible. You can find details of COVID symptoms here: Main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) – NHS (www.nhs.uk)
At worship and church meetings, seating will remain well spaced-out, extra ventilation provided and hand sanitiser made available.
At the same time, it is important to recognise the great benefits to mental, spiritual and physical health of people gathering for worship and other church activities.
