On Monday 4th March, St Barnabas’ Parochial Church Council adopted a new Mission Action Plan (MAP) for the church, covering the years 2024 to 2026. This has been formulated by much prayer, discussion and feedback in recent months. Much of the new MAP is rooted in the previous MAP. But there are also major new aims. As we look back, it is amazing how many prayers have been answered in recent years. So, as we look forward, it will need much prayer for the plans of the new MAP to be realised. But we have many reasons to be hopeful. At the head of the document is a new verse, from the New Testament letter to the Romans, chapter 15 verse 13. It is a prayer that the church may ‘overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’ God has done many great things through St Barnabas in past years. In a world of much gloom, let’s pray that St Barnabas ‘overflows with hope’ in the years to come.
